Description
The PGI-01 Panoramic Gamma Irradiator, fitted with a suitable radionuclide source, is primarily intended for the calibration and testing of personal dosimeters or other small detection devices that are placed on a rotary table. The irradiator contains one radionuclide.
Key Features
– High maximum source activity possible due to suitable thick lead shielding
– Batch of dosimeters can be calibrated in one session (e.g. 20 pieces)
– Fast calibration process, easy operation
– High reliability
Purpose
The PGI-01 irradiator, fitted with a suitable radionuclide source, is primarily intended for the calibration and testing of personal dosimeters or other small detection devices that are placed on a rotary table. The irradiator contains one radionuclide. The source is electro-mechanically moved from the safe shielded position to the exposed working position. Optional accessories of the PGI-01 gives enhanced functionality of the irradiator.
The dosimeter holder table enables the correct and repeatable positioning of several dosimeters during one operation. The rotary table eliminates the effect of possible non-homogeneity of the gamma field, and this increases the calibration accuracy.
The irradiator is controlled from the local control unit with an LED display, or optionally from the host PC. There is installed safety system, which ensures, in case of any emergency, that the source cannot be moved to the operating position; and if it is ejected, the source will automatically be returned into the basic shielded position. Signaling of the emitter exposure status is provided by a built-in siren or an external signaling unit.
