GI-03 Gamma Irradiation System

GI-03 Gamma Irradiation System

The GI-03 Gamma Irradiation System has been developed for the calibration of dose rate and dose measurement devices.

Description

The GI-03 Gamma Irradiation System is a fixed reference irradiation system that provides a homogeneous and collimated gamma beam for the calibration of gamma dose rate and dose measurement devices.

When utilized with appropriate gamma radionuclide sources, the GI-03 establishes a reference gamma radiation field within metrology laboratories. The system supports calibration and testing applications across a broad dose rate range, from decimal µGy/h levels up to the order of Gy/h.

The GI-03, capable of operation with up to three gamma radionuclide sources, ensures the secure retention of sources in a shielded position and facilitates the controlled movement of the selected source to the collimator aperture during irradiation.

The system comprises a lead-shielded rotary source carrier, a collimator, a control unit, a safety system, and alarm components. The collimator structure, compliant with ISO 4037:2019 requirements, assists in achieving a homogeneous and collimated gamma beam.

The GI-03 can be remotely managed via a computer equipped with DARS control software. The integrated safety system interrupts the irradiation process in emergency situations; in the event of a power outage, the open source automatically returns to the shielded safe position due to gravity.
