Description

The LAM-544 Liquid Activity Monitor is a fixed radiation monitoring system developed for the measurement of volumetric activity of gamma-emitting radionuclides in process liquids under routine operating conditions in nuclear facilities.

The LAM-544 assists in the continuous monitoring of radioactivity levels in process liquids, particularly for the purpose of detecting fission and activation products. Due to its in-line monitor design, the detector is positioned within a dedicated measurement sump located inside the monitored pipeline.

The system consists of a LAD-44 detector group, a GD-52 NaI(Tl) gamma detector, an LED control and stabilization source, and an RPU-06 radiation processing unit. The DIM-15 digital multichannel analyzer enables spectrum processing and evaluation of measurement results.

In the default configuration, the total volumetric gamma activity is determined based on the selected reference radionuclide. With the optional spectrometric function, it is possible to identify and quantitatively evaluate up to 16 gamma-emitting radionuclides.

The RadSpec software is utilized for configuring spectrometric parameters and calibration procedures of the device. Through Ethernet Modbus TCP and RS-485 Modbus RTU interfaces, the LAM-544 can be integrated into facility radiation monitoring infrastructures.
