Description
The LAM-564 Liquid Activity Monitor is a fixed radiation monitoring system developed for measuring the volumetric activity of gamma-emitting radionuclides in process liquids under normal operating conditions in nuclear facilities.
The LAM-564 operates on the principle of passing a continuously drawn liquid sample from the process line through a shielded measurement chamber. Due to its off-line type structure, measurements are performed in a controlled measurement section outside the process pipeline.
The system comprises a LAD-64 detector group, a GD-52 NaI(Tl) gamma detector, a stainless steel flow measurement chamber, lead shielding, and an RPU-06 radiation processing unit. A DIM-15 digital multichannel analyzer is utilized for processing measurement signals and evaluating spectra.
The LED control and stabilization source assists in performing automatic spectrum stabilization and functional testing. With an optional background compensation detector, the impact of environmental background variations on measurements can be reduced.
The LAM-564 enables the monitoring of total gamma activity and/or the activity of selected radionuclides. RadSpec software allows for the configuration of spectrometric parameters, execution of calibration procedures, and integration of the system into the facility’s radiation monitoring infrastructure.
