Description

LEM-221 Liquid Effluent Monitor is a fixed radiation monitoring system developed for the spectrometric monitoring of volumetric activity of liquids in hold-up tanks within nuclear medicine units, PET centers, and nuclear facilities.

The LEM-221 assists in the evaluation of radioactivity levels of liquid effluents during controlled release processes. The system supports facility radiation safety procedures by measuring the volumetric activity of selected gamma-emitting radionuclides in liquids contained within hold-up tanks.

The monitor comprises a LAD-21 detector, a NaI(Tl) 1×1″ scintillation crystal, and a DIM-15 BOX multichannel analyzer structure. The detector is positioned within an adjustable collimator, which assists in compensating for the effect of liquid level on measurement.

The adjustable collimator structure enables the optimization of measurement geometry according to varying activity levels and tank conditions. This allows the system to be utilized as part of a controlled release system in conjunction with hold-up tanks or as a standalone monitor.

The LEM-221 facilitates the spectrometric monitoring of volumetric activity for up to 16 selected radionuclides. With minimal maintenance requirements and a modular design, it offers a practical solution for nuclear medicine, PET center, and nuclear facility applications.
