Description
The MISTRAL XM Air Activation Monitoring System is a radiation monitoring system developed for the sampling, monitoring, and evaluation of gamma activity concentration resulting from air activation.
MISTRAL XM can be utilized particularly in particle accelerator facilities, cyclotron centers, nuclear medicine applications, and radiation-controlled areas where air activity monitoring is required.
The system can be configured in two primary versions. MISTRAL XM Rooms is used for monitoring room air from the free environment; MISTRAL XM Stack is used for monitoring air discharged from a stack or exhaust line.
MISTRAL XM consists of the APU, which functions as the acquisition and processing unit, and the SDU-XM, which is the sampling/detection unit. The APU is the main command and control interface, comprising a panel PC, system electronics, pump flow control, and electro-valves when necessary.
The SDU-XM unit includes a NaI(Tl) scintillator detector, MCA, a lead-shielded measurement chamber suitable for 3-liter Marinelli geometry, and an air sampling pump. In the Stack version, a flow meter can also be used for calculating specific activity based on the discharged air volume.
The control software supports functions such as real-time display of measurement data, system status tracking, alarm threshold setting, energy spectrum monitoring, data archiving, and management of operating/calibration parameters.
