Description
The N16M-504 Primary Circuit Leak Monitor is a fixed radiation monitoring system developed for nuclear power plants to monitor and evaluate potential primary-to-secondary circuit leakages in steam generators through N-16 activity.
The system assists in the quantitative evaluation of primary-to-secondary circuit leakages by measuring the nitrogen-16 volumetric gamma activity in the main steam line. Additionally, it supports the monitoring of the total volumetric activity of gamma-emitting radionuclides present in the main steam line.
The N16M-504 operates with an adjacent-to-line measurement geometry, enabling measurements without requiring direct intervention in the process line. The GD-53 NaI(Tl) scintillation detector, utilized with lead shielding and a collimator structure, supports measurement sensitivity and directional detection performance.
The RPU-06 radiation processing unit evaluates N-16 activity via 6.13 MeV and 7.11 MeV peak energies using a multi-channel analyzer structure. Spectrometric analysis of additional gamma radionuclides in the steam line can also be performed as required.
RadSpec software is utilized for device configuration, spectrometric analysis, and calibration procedures. The system can be integrated into nuclear facility radiation monitoring infrastructures with features including local display, alarm tracking, measurement archiving, and data transfer to central systems.
