Description
The NGM-2000 Noble Gas Monitor is a fixed radiation monitoring system developed for nuclide-based and semi-continuous monitoring of volumetric activities of radioactive noble gases released from nuclear facilities.
The NGM-2000 is utilized for analyzing samples collected from ventilation stacks or stack inlet ducts in nuclear power plants, nuclear fuel reprocessing facilities, and scientific institutions operating research reactors.
The system prepares the sampled air for measurement by first passing it through particulate and iodine filters. Subsequently, the sample is introduced into a Marinelli beaker, either pressurized or at normal pressure depending on the model configuration, and analyzed with an electrically cooled HPGe detector.
The NGM-2000 can calculate current volumetric activity values, hourly and daily summary activities, alarm level exceedances, and total noble gas activities released during specific periods. Through its external stack flow signal connection, it assists in the evaluation of total release quantities and committed effective dose values.
It accommodates various measurement sensitivity and monitoring requirements with regulatory and continuous model options. With a local display and control unit, an uninterruptible power supply, and central system connectivity, it can be integrated into nuclear facility radiation monitoring infrastructures.
