NI-03 Neutron Irradiation System

NI-03 Neutron Irradiation System

The NI-03 Neutron Irradiation System is developed for the calibration of neutron dose and dose rate measurement devices.

Description

The NI-03 Neutron Irradiation System is a fixed irradiation system that provides a reference neutron flux for the calibration of neutron dose and dose rate measurement devices.

When utilized with appropriate radionuclide sources, the NI-03 generates a controlled neutron field within calibration laboratories. Optionally, it can also accommodate various radiation calibration requirements by being used in conjunction with a gamma source.

The system comprises a rotating source carousel for up to three encapsulated radionuclide sources, a vertical source lifting mechanism, a neutron stopper, polyethylene shielding, and lead shielding components.

During the irradiation process, the selected source is automatically transferred from the shielded safe position to the irradiation position. A mechanical source indicator assists in verifying the source’s presence in the irradiation position on-site.

Integrated safety interlocks ensure the termination of the irradiation process in non-standard or emergency situations. In the event of a power outage, the exposed source automatically returns to the shielded safe position due to gravity.
