Description
The SaphyGATE GN Gamma-Neutron Radiation Portal Monitor is a next-generation radiation portal monitor developed for the detection and discrimination of gamma and neutron radiation in vehicle, pedestrian, baggage, and cargo passages.
SaphyGATE GN assists in preventing the unauthorized transport of radioactive sources in border security, ports, airports, nuclear facilities, critical infrastructures, and large event security applications. The system provides non-invasive radiation screening without interrupting the controlled flow of people or cargo.
Developed in collaboration with CEA, the system can detect gamma and neutron radiation without utilizing helium-3 detectors. Gamma-neutron detection and discrimination can be achieved through a single detector technology with high-volume plastic scintillators and fast photon multiplier tubes.
SaphyGATE GN offers high-sensitivity measurement performance for the detection of special nuclear materials. SNM and NORM discrimination assists operators in more accurately evaluating naturally occurring radiation versus potentially threatening radioactive sources.
Its modular structure allows adaptation to various applications such as heavy vehicle and container screening, light vehicle screening, pedestrian passage, and baggage screening. Gamma background attenuation compensation reduces the impact of background variations that may occur during vehicle or cargo passage, providing more reliable alarm assessment.
