Description
The SAM-525 Small Object Contamination Monitor is a fixed contamination monitor developed for the rapid and reliable control of surface contamination originating from alpha and beta emitting radionuclides on small objects.
The SAM-525 assists in the assessment of small materials, equipment, personal items, and samples for contamination in nuclear facilities, waste management areas, nuclear medicine units, and radiation-controlled zones.
The device offers high detection efficiency and homogeneous response with a 525 cm² active area plastic scintillator detector and a dual photomultiplier tube structure. In addition to surface contamination measurement, ambient gamma dose equivalent rate can also be monitored via the integrated GM tube.
The SAM-525 series is offered with two model options based on application requirements. The SAM-525BG can be selected for high-sensitivity single-channel measurement of beta radiation; the SAM-525CG can be preferred for dual-channel measurement capable of distinguishing between alpha and beta radiation.
The Contamat measurement mode enables the assessment of an object as clean or contaminated based on a predetermined threshold value. Measurement results can be displayed numerically or as a bar graph on the screen, archived with a timestamp, and exported as a file when required.
