Description
The CPD-13 Continuous Particulate Detector is a fixed radiation monitoring detector developed for the continuous measurement of airborne alpha and beta active aerosol volumetric activity.
The CPD-13 assists in protecting personnel against the risk of internal contamination that may arise from radioactive particles in radiation-controlled areas. Measurement is performed by passing an air sample, taken from the working environment air, ventilation systems, or environmental sampling lines, through the detector module.
The sampled air is passed over a moving filter tape, and aerosol particulates are retained on the filter. Si-PIN detectors positioned close to the filter tape ensure high-efficiency measurement of the captured alpha and beta activity.
The CPD-13 provides reliable measurement support in long-term air particulate monitoring applications with its radon/thoron compensation and real-time background compensation features. A pressure sensor assists in monitoring for filter tape clogging or tearing conditions.
The moving filter tape structure allows for measurements to be performed without filter replacement for 3 months to several years, depending on the operating mode. An integrated display model option enables direct connection to a host system without the need for an external display unit.
