Description
The FRM-03 Free Release Monitor is an automated measurement system developed for the evaluation of solid materials for radioactive contamination during the decommissioning and dismantling processes of nuclear facilities.
The FRM-03 enables the spectroscopic analysis of radioactive substances that may be present within the measured waste or material. The system assists in the evaluation of whether the material can be released into the environment by comparing it with free release levels.
The measurement process is performed using three HPGe semiconductor detectors within a shielded measurement tunnel. Solid materials to be measured are placed into appropriate containers and transported to the measurement tunnel via a rail conveyor system.
The control software facilitates the automatic management of the measurement process, the analysis of acquired spectrometric data, and the comparison of calculated activities with free release criteria.
Thanks to its fully automatic operational structure, the FRM-03 offers a fast, reliable, and traceable measurement process for high-volume dismantling and waste management projects.
