LAM-541 Liquid Activity Monitor

LAM-541 Liquid Activity Monitor

The LAM-541 Liquid Activity Monitor has been developed to monitor radioactive noble gas activity in the steam-air line.

Description

The LAM-541 Liquid Activity Monitor is a fixed radiation monitoring system developed to measure the total volumetric activity of gamma-emitting radioactive noble gases in the steam-air mixture within the turbine condenser vacuum pump sump ventilation line at nuclear power plants.

The LAM-541 assists in the continuous monitoring of radioactive noble gas levels in the ventilation line under routine operating conditions. Its in-line monitor design allows the detector to be installed directly within the measured pipeline, enabling direct measurement on the process line.

The system consists of an NGD-41 detector group and an RPU-06 radiation processing unit. A temperature-resistant YAP crystal scintillation detector operates in conjunction with pulse processing electronics and an LED-based control/stabilization source at the measurement point.

The RPU-06 unit locally displays measurement results, archives measurement values and system parameters, and provides visual and audible alarms if predetermined alarm levels are exceeded. For applications not requiring a local display, the RPU-04 unit may also be preferred.

Through its Ethernet Modbus TCP and RS-485 Modbus RTU interfaces, the LAM-541 can be integrated into facility radiation monitoring infrastructures. With optional analog/digital input-output modules and safety-classified function support, it can be utilized in critical facility applications.
