GI-01H Gamma Irradiation System

GI-01H Gamma Irradiation System

The GI-01H Gamma Irradiation System has been developed for the calibration of gamma dose rate and dose measurement devices.

Description

The GI-01H Gamma Irradiation System is a fixed reference irradiation system that provides homogeneous and collimated gamma radiation for the calibration of gamma dose rate and dose measurement devices.

When used with an appropriate Co-60 radionuclide source, the GI-01H generates a reference gamma radiation field in metrology laboratories. The system supports calibration and testing applications across a wide dose rate range, from several decimal µGy/h levels up to Gy/h magnitudes.

The system comprises a lead-shielded source carrier, a collimator, a control unit, a safety system, and alarm components. When the irradiation process is initiated, the source is elevated from its shielded safe position to the collimator aperture, thereby generating a homogeneous, collimated gamma beam.

The GI-01H can be remotely managed via a computer equipped with DARS data and control software. The integrated safety system halts the irradiation process during emergencies; in the event of a power outage, the exposed source automatically returns to its shielded safe position due to gravity.

The collimator structure, compliant with ISO 4037:2019 requirements, is offered as standard with lead material; an optional tungsten collimator can be selected. The dose rate range can be extended with different attenuator sets, depending on specific requirements.
