The PET-01 PET Air Monitor has been developed for monitoring gas effluent activity in PET centers.

Description

The PET-01 PET Air Monitor is a fixed radiation monitoring system developed for monitoring gas effluent activity originating from positron-emitting radionuclides in PET centers, cyclotron facilities, and nuclear medicine departments.

The PET-01 assists in monitoring positron-emitting radionuclides such as C-11, N-13, O-15, Sr/Rb-82, and Ge/Ga-68, with F-18 being the primary focus. It can also be utilized for the detection of other gamma radiation-emitting radionuclides.

The system is optimized for monitoring radioactive gases passing through ventilation ducts. The detector is typically positioned inside the ventilation duct to achieve maximum detection efficiency. Alternatively, it can be installed adjacent to the duct exterior with an optional collimator.

The PET-01 consists of a GD-53 NaI(Tl) gamma detector and an RPU-06 radiation processing unit. The RPU-06 unit processes the detector signal with a multichannel analyzer, displays and archives measurement values, and provides visual and audible alarms upon exceeding defined alarm levels.

The PET-01 model can determine the nuclide-based volumetric activity of up to four gamma radionuclides in the air through ROI analysis. The PET-01P model, conversely, can evaluate up to ten gamma radionuclides with internal peak analysis and offers configuration and calibration support via RadSpec spectroscopy software.
