Description
The PIG-200 Particle, Iodine, and Noble Gas Monitor is a fixed radiation monitoring system developed for the continuous monitoring of volumetric activities of airborne radioactive particles, iodine, and noble gases.
The system enables the monitoring of radioactive particle, iodine, and noble gas concentrations in the air sampled from the working environment or the ventilation stack sampling line in nuclear facilities. It also assists in determining the total activities released via the ventilation stack.
The PIG-200 features an integrated system structure comprising a continuous particle detector, a continuous iodine detector, a continuous noble gas detector, a differential pressure flowmeter, an air pump, and a processing/display unit.
The sampled air first passes through the particle detector, ensuring the retention of aerosols on a moving filter tape. Subsequently, radioactive iodine is retained on an iodine cartridge, and in the final stage, the sampled air is directed to the noble gas detector’s measurement chamber.
The measured aerosol, iodine, and noble gas activities, along with air flow information, can be monitored via the local display unit. The system records measurement values in a local archive and supports data transfer to central monitoring systems.
